This Week in the Studio...and a Contest...

What a busy week!! I am desperately trying to stock up for summer art shows in the midst of kids, teaching jewelry classes, and having a new roof put on our house. I am so excited about our beautiful old home getting a new roof! I shall post pictures as it moves along. Here is a sneak peak at some of the beauties that I will be listing in my Etsy shop this week.

"Quite Contrary" made almost entirely from vintage bits and baubles that I have found on my treasure hunts.

Copper and vintage blue pearl adjustable ring

Unnamed sterling silver and red crystal necklace~ what is your name idea?

**Edited 3-22-10**

I've decided to turn this into a small contest! Post your name ideas here for my sterling silver and red crystal necklace and if I pick your name, I'll send you a handmade adjustable copper ring with your choice of bead colors!

I love this necklace! It is so beautiful. How about calling it Moonfire? The silver crescent reminds me of the moon and the red crystal definitely speaks of fire.

The stone is sort of a tear drop shape, so I was thinking of something like "Blood Drop". That might be a little morbid sounding, though, lol!

How about Moon Passion or The Heart of the Moon.

That shape is reminiscent of a fan to me,too. What about Fanfare? It's gorgeous, by the way.

All of your work is BeaUtiful! Feels like a walk in fantasy land. Your necklace says it wants to be called "Eternal Sun" being from Tucson, the land of sunshine, it called out to us sun folk! Peace, Lady Steel

Sorry, my friends, this piece is called "Initiation". Oh yes it is.

Gypsy girl I am goosebumping over all your new wonderments. Seriously! Love the creative expansion. That vintage assemblage? YUM.

How about "Love Center"?
Beautiful pieces all of them. The top necklace is outstanding. Well done you!
Happy Monday!

That makes me think both sun and moon (moon for the beads, sun for the pendant) so I'm thinking something like "Lunisolar Light".

"Wheel of Life," because the shape around the crystal seems rather wheel-esque and the red crystal could be emblematic of hearts/blood/life.

Ooh, I like it! That red's very primal, but the crystal and wires are so orderly and Apollonic...Hmm..

"Eye of Mars"?

"Blood Sun"?

"Birth of the Sun"?

"Lyre of the Heart"?

They're probably all too long, but it's such a poetic piece, I'm restraining myself as it is!

"Heche en Mexico" ?

My contribution is "Royal Red Radiance." I love to use alliteration when naming my items. So, the stone is red, the necklace is opulent for any queen, and the pendant has lovely star-burst rays. Just magnificent!
